Great Commission Initiative Training is unique in several ways.
First, we promise we will only put in front of you the best practitioners in the world, people who have proven themselves on the field, either as strategy coordinators, researchers, DOM’s, church planters or trainers.
Second, our training takes time. You will never feel like your time is wasted, but you will have enough time to fully digest the presentations and to demonstrate the ability to put what you have been learned into practical use in the ministry you believe God is calling you to. We not only give you time during our training workshops, we also give you 4-5 months between workshops.
Third, we structure our training as much as possible in a learning community format, so that by the second phase of training, you are teaching one another as much as you are learning from the experts.
Phase 1
A thorough understanding of the dynamics of church planting movements around the world, what ignites them, sustains them and stops them
Practical tools to develop an evangelism/discipleship strategy that produces exponential growth through multiplying disciples and churches
Phase 2
Practical experience in choosing, crafting, and telling individual Bible stories
An understanding of oral communication strategies, when and how to apply them to your preaching/teaching
A complete strategic plan for implementing what you have learned through GCI in your ministry
But - I THOUGHT WE ALL SPOKE ENGLISH IN MAINE. HOW DOES GCI APPLY TO US?
Actually, that’s not exactly true. Here are the number about languages spoken in the homes of Maine’s residents*:
74— the number of languages spoken in Maine
4— the number of counties with 20 or more languages
13— the number of counties with 10 or more languages
16— the number of counties with five or more languages
7— the number of languages spoken in Maine with 1000 or more speakers

When you add to these language numbers the additional number of English speaking people group segments not being reached with the Gospel, you will recognize the hugeness of the task before us.
